History

The Pharmacist Professional Study Program is a Professional Education Program after graduating from the Bachelor Program (S1) to gain expertise as a Pharmacist. The existence of USU's PSPA FF began with the opening of the Department of Pharmacy in 1969 at the USU Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences (FIPIA). In 1982 USU's FIPIA was changed to USU's Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA). At that time there was no separation between the Pharmacy S-1 Education Program and the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program. After obtaining a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (Drs/ Dra, now S. Farm), students can go to the Pharmacist Level while still using the same Student Identification Number (NIM).

On January 26, 2011, the Pharmacist Professional Education Program (P3A) of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy obtained an operational permit from the Ministry of National Education through Decree No. 26/D/O/2011 concerning the Implementation of the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program at the University of North Sumatra in Medan, and since then P3A has changed its name to the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program abbreviated as PSPA, and on February 3, 2012 the Pharmacist Profession Study Program Obtained Accreditation " A” Based on the decision of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Republic of Indonesia Number 001/BAN-PT/Ak-I/PSPA/II/2012.
